Child safety standards
Dared has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards apply to everything on Dared: profiles, proof, showcases, posts, replies, messages and connected group chats.
Who can use Dared
You must be 13 or older to use Dared. We ask for your birth year when you sign up and delete accounts we learn belong to someone under 13.
What is never allowed
- Any content that sexualises minors, including images, video, text, drawings and AI-generated material.
- Grooming: building a relationship with a minor to sexually exploit or abuse them, including asking for images, moving a conversation off Dared for that purpose, or offering gifts or money.
- Sextortion, or threatening to share intimate images of anyone.
- Sharing, requesting, linking to or advertising CSAM.
- Trafficking, or any content that promotes the exploitation of children.
How to report
- In the app: open the post, proof, showcase or profile, tap the menu and choose Report. You can also Block the user.
- By email: contact@dared.app, subject “Child safety report”. Describe what you saw and where. Don't download, screenshot or forward abusive images.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first.
- You can also report CSAM directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline (US) or the Internet Watch Foundation (UK and international).
What we do
- Child safety reports are reviewed first, as quickly as possible and always within 24 hours.
- We remove CSAE content, permanently ban the accounts involved and preserve evidence as the law requires.
- We report CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant regional and national authorities, and we cooperate with law enforcement.
- Content in a cohort is visible to its members and the creator who runs it. Cohort hosts and our moderators can hide content immediately.
Laws we follow
We comply with applicable child safety laws, including reporting obligations for CSAM in the countries where Dared is available.
